Kupwara, June 13 (KNO) : The education in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district has come to halt as the department has miserably failed to provide books and uniforms to over 70000 students, thus putting a question mark over the tall claims regarding quality education. The non seriousness of the education department has affected the education and learning process in the district. Reports said that over 1400 government run Middle and Primary schools across the district are without books and uniforms, which is supposed to be provided by the department at the beginning of session. However, over four months elapsed of thee session, but the department seems less bothered about the future of students. Official sources told KNO that all the institutions functioning in far off places including those within the close radius of CEO and ZEO offices are without complete book series as per the allotted syllabus published by Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK). They said that over 72 thousand students enrolled in different middle and primary government run institutions across the district are suffering due to non seriousness of the department. In past annual sessions, the department would rather allot the disbursements of uniforms and books through the concerned faculty of particular institutions but this year, the trend has been changed that too with non seriousness, an official said on anonymity bases.(KNO)
